How do I increase my vocabulary retention in Korean? Why are Koreans often so critical?

Learning Korean is harder for English speakers because there is no foundation for the words that we are learning - with Spanish and French there are cognates and words that are very similar. For this reason, someone who has learned Spanish or French will likely find that trying to remember Korean vocabulary words will be much harder. In this video we talk about vocabulary accessibility as opposed to vocabulary retention.
