2018 Brilliance V7 Flagship SUV Full Car Overview

Brilliance is a Chinese brand that most of you have never heard of, but it exists, and the company even has a partnership with BMW on the former’s domestic market. Together with BMW, Brilliance owns half of BMW Brilliance, which is a joint venture that manufactures, distributes, and sells products of the German brand in China. The Asian corporation also owns a minibus company named Jinbei, which operates on its domestic market. You might think that Brilliance is a small player, but it had the capacity to built 800,000 cars in 2010, and it has since invested in expanding its capabilities. Back in 2007, Brilliance launched a model in Europe, the BS6, which was followed by the BS4. The first of them was crash-tested by Germany’s ADAC, which only gave it a star out of five for its performance. While Landwind was the first Chinese brand that attempted to sell vehicles in Europe and failed, Brilliance Auto got the unwanted change of being second. With the help of BMW, the employees at Brilliance might have a shot at developing models that could attain decent results in European crashworthiness tests, which is an important step that must be undertaken to guarantee a chance of success on the Old Continent. According to reports, the Brilliance V7 is set to become the brand’s most expensive model ever offered. With that in mind, along with BMW’s collaboration with this company, there is a chance that the Chinese might consider selling it in Europe. The latter hypothesis could explain why Brilliance bothers with testing its prototype in winter conditions in Europe, and this could be one of the reasons why they are undergoing these efforts. A look at the spyshots reveals a conventionally-designed SUV, with familiar shapes, but without any blatant copying of Western brands. It features a front grille that reminds us of an older off-roader from Mitsubishi, but with a twist in the form of a triangle-shaped element. Meanwhile, its front and rear lights do not resemble anything else on the European market.

New 2018 Chery Tiggo 8 1.5TCI Full Car Overview

Chery has released the first images of the interior of their new flagship Chery Tiggo 8 SUV. The place looks very clean with a digital instrument panel and nice materials, but the main touch screen seems almost Volkswagen-small, especially compared to what BYD is doing. The instrument panel looks star ship, with a large central dial flanked by two smaller ones. The steering wheel is remarkable button-free. Chery hasn’t disclosed how large the screen is, but this really seems no better than 8 inches. We also have some new images of the Chery Tiggo 8 on the road, showing its big black beak. The Tiggo 8 seats seven. Power comes from a 1.5 turbo with 147 hp and 210 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed DCT. The engine is rather old and used in many other Chery’s. The 147 horses seem barely enough to propel a car as big as the Tiggo 8 to a decent speed.

2018 JAC Refine S7 SUV Packs a Punch with Superior Engine Power, Safety

The JAC Refine S7 SUV is finally ready, seen here in dark red flanked by stern looking creatures wearing white gloves. What is that all about?! The Refine S7 features a distinctive grille with a lot of shine and a black upper bar with the new JAC logo in it. Wheels look sporty but a tad too small. The S7 is the new flagship of the JAC SUV lineup. But it won’t be for long as the company is already working on bigger cars. There will be two engines available: a 1.5 turbo with 174hp and 251nm and 2.0 turbo with 190hp and 280nm, both mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed DCT. It is the same engine lineup as in the Refine A60 sedan. Length is 4800 and wheelbase is 2800. The Refine S7 will come in five-seat and seven-seat versions. The interior is very impressive for a JAC, by far their best so far. Black leather sears with a red dash, a battery of four air vents on the center stack with a clock in the middle. There is a digital instrument panel and a 10 inch touch screen. It has shiny perforated panels for even more SUV speed! The red seat covers in this car are a common thing in media cars in China; the car makers don’t want those stinkin’ journalist asses to dirty their seats.

HAIMA M8 - HAIMA VN

HAIMA VIỆT NAM | KYLIN-GX668 http://haima.vn - http://otothegioi.vn

This is the new Haima S5 Young, and as its name implies it is aimed at young car buyers which means I cannot buy one. Well, happy that Haima is so honest about it. The S5 Young was formerly known as the Haima S3. The name-change happened rather late in its development, we saw it with S3 badges in July last year.
Confusingly, there is also a Haima S5 SUV.

So Haima now has the S5 and the S5 Young. That implies that young people cannot buy the S5 anymore. But I can; I am old. The S5 and the S5 Young are different in many other ways too. The S5 is really in a segment above the S5 Young, that is why the latter was called S3 before.

The S5 sells for 79.800 to 116.800 yuan. Power comes from 122hp 1.6 mated to a six-speed manual or a 163hp 1.5 turbo mated to a CVT.

Size: 4358/1823/1630, and wheelbase is 2630.

The S5 Young will cost between 70.000 and 90.000 yuan. It will only get the 122hp 1.6 and not the 163 1.5 turbo. The other way around would have made more sense. Young people want to go fast, they are turbocharged. Old people like me are happy with a slow-revving 1.6. But it gets even worse. The 1.6 won’t be mated to no fancy six-speed manual oh no, it will instead get a… five speed manual.

Pity those poor young people!

S5 Yong size: 4195/1765/1625, and wheelbase is 2560.

The looks are not bad for a Haima, absolutely their wildest design ever. Look at that crazy D-pillar, with a tiny Haima badge int he black strip dividing the roof and the side! Crazily wild indeed. Roof rack is properly useful so the young can attach their game consoles to it.

Lights are a tad too large for 2018. Skid pad is wide, catching those stones on the winding city roads. Door handles are wuzzy. They are in body color with a black strip on them. What is that for. Must be something the young like. Guess Haima did its research. Right..?
