The Dongfeng Fengguang 580 SUV / DFSK Glory 580 CVT SUV has been launched on the Beijing Auto Show in China, looking sweet in blue showing off its shiny shiny grille. The Fengguang 580 is a new compact SUV, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in June, and price will range from 90.000 to 150.000 yuan. The Fengguang 580 will be powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 150hp, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Size: 4680/1845/1715, and wheelbase is 2780. Dongfeng will offer a five-seat and a seven-seat version. Price will range from 90.000 to 150.000 yuan. The Fengguang 580 is manufactured by Dongfeng Xiaokang, a commercial-vehicle division under Dongfeng Motor that makes a range of mini vans, mini MPV’s, and small trucks. The Fengguang 580 is their first true passenger-car SUV. The interior looks great for the segment, but it is possibly a tad too gray. This car too is aimed at young car buyers, and they do like a bit more color. The touch screen is large and the infotainment system comes with comes with full smartphone integration, USB and HDMI connectivity, satellite navigation, a wifi hot spot, and permanent 4G internet. The name for the engine series is ‘EuroDriver’. That names reminds us of the early 00’s. Everything car-related was ‘euro’ then, the Chinese thought that sounded modern and high tech-ish. It is very rare to see that kind of a name today, with all the mess in Europe, but Dongfeng does it. Security man kept a close eye on my movements. They had a security man at every car. The security man didn’t know about the car. For questions I had to go to the information men. One of those can be seen in the background, wearing a big blue badge around his neck, working his phone. I didn’t dare to disturb him, and anyway, I didn’t really have questions.
This is likely going to be the craziest Chinese vehicle to launch this year. It is a new variant of the Beijing Auto BJ80, fitted with a lot of new body work and a partially new interior. It debuted last year as a semi-concept on the Guangzhou Auto Show, where it was called Riot Control Car. The yet nameless production car has slightly different lights and bumpers but it is otherwise very similar. And most interesting, it has an American connection. Note the BAIC TAP badge on the left. Beijing stands for Beijing Auto Industry Corporation, the owner of the Beijing Auto brand. TAP stands for Transamerican Auto Parts, an American aftermarket-parts manufacturer, specialized in Jeeps and other off-road cars. BAIC and TAP entered into a partnership in 2014 with TAP to “design and manufacture an entire line of premium off-road products and accessories”. The monstrous ‘Riot Control Car’ however seems to be a bit more than just a dressed up BJ80, so it seems that companies have since extended their agreement. More on this if we find out. In the meantime; the riot control car is not really a riot control car; it is more like a luxurious armored car for wealthy clients who need a bit more protection, a bit like cars such as the Dartz Prom and the Rhino GX. Check the interior: Dash is the same as in the standard BJ80. Now guess what powers this not-really riot control vehicle. It comes from Sweden. It is old. Yes! The Saab 2.3 turbo four, good for 250hp and 350nm, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, sending power to all four wheels. Beijing Auto Industrial Corporation (BAIC), the owner of Beijing Auto, bought the rights to the Saab 2.0 turbo and Saab 2.3 turbo from GM in 2009, along with the rights to the platforms of the Saab 9-3 and first generation Saab 9-5. The 2.3 turbo also serves in the base BJ80,the Senova D70 and the Beijing Auto BJ40, among others.

First Impression: DFSK Glory 580, LSUV Challenger from China If you see the title, what do you think of LSUV? It must have been all you had in mind was Rushter circulating since 2006, and maybe BR-V. Trax and HR-V? Ah, maybe we used to call it with Compact Crossover. Well, on the title GIIAS 2017 this time, appeared again one challenger in LSUV class from China. He is the DFSK Glory 580, which is unobtrusive in the exhibits for being fused with the hall of trucks and buses. What kind of model? Check out our First Impression below. From the front, Glory 580 looks pretty cool with the adoption of projector headlamps with DRL. Fascianya look luxurious but headlampnya slightly outdated. Gril type chrome bar numbered 3 bars. By the way, anyone agree with us if the front looks like HR-V? Side view Glory 580 looks sleek and not high, but in our opinion even so like Hyundai Tucson or Nissan X-Trail. Spionnya not flat like Rush, but not as cool as the BR-V's LED turning lamp 'hidden'. Type 1.5 Turbo wearing 17 inch polished 2-tone rims with 225/60 tires .. Glory 580 has a third row bench like its competitors. But we did not sit test because a. we will not fit there, and b. we will not fit there. Looks like the bench is just the X-Trail selega. To be sure, folding flat floor and there is a luggage cover as well when the third row bench folded. It is rare in cars with 3 rows of seats. Glory 580 adopts 1.8 NA and 1.5 Turbo engines. The 1.8 produces power of around 130hp and is combined with 5-speed manual only. 1.5 Turbo has a power of about 150hp and combined with 6-speed manual and CVT. Glory 580 is scheduled to enter the Indonesian market next year. Our prediction, with a price range of 280 millions, it will be somewhat difficult to compete with Japanese cars, but it can be an attractive option with its cool looks and abundant features. The Dongfeng Fengguang 580 SUV has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 72.900 yuan and ends at 99.999 yuan, no kidding. The Fengguang 580 debuted in April on the Beijing Auto Show. It has become a solid looking compact SUV with a big shiny grille and tiny tiny wheels. The Fengguang 580 will be powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 150hp, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Size: 4680/1845/1715, and wheelbase is 2780. The Fengguang 580 is manufactured by Dongfeng Xiaokang, a commercial-vehicle division under Dongfeng Motor that makes a range of mini vans, mini MPV’s, mini pickup trucks, and small trucks. The Fengguang 580 is their first passenger-car SUV. The interior looks great for the segment, but it is possibly a tad too gray. This car too is aimed at young car buyers and they do like a bit more color. The touch screen is large and the infotainment system comes with full smartphone integration, USB and HDMI connectivity, satellite navigation, a wifi hot spot, and permanent 4G internet. The lights are red, the lights are large, and the lights are connected by a shiny strip. Black bumper in a bit bland. And look how small that rear wheel is, swimming in the arch. Far too narrow! It has to handle a lot of car. Better slow down in corners! Single pipe on the left side, hiding neatly under the bumper. Note badge on the right. The T of 1.5T is painted red. Nice. Racy.
The presence of Wuling Hongguang aka Wuling Confero S to the ground water is actually quite surprising, because the model factor that seems not the taste of the people of Indonesia could have hindered its sales. But anyway SGMW Motor Indonesia to bring in this LMPV. Well, what about Dongfeng? Still familiar with this name? If the name DFSK maybe more familiar huh?
Both names are actually the same, because DFSK stands for Dongfeng Sokon. It's just that, if we talk Dongfeng in China, then the scope will be wide. It could be Dongfeng Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, and still many other Donfeng who are under the auspices of Dongfeng Motor. Well, DFSK itself is one of the Dongfeng subsidiaries that enter the Indonesian market. Reportedly, DFSK Glory will be their first product in the homeland. Then, looking at the culture of Indonesian people who like many load car, cheap price, and quality okay, whether the DFSK party did not bother to bring an LMPV? I have no idea. But basically they have LMPV also you know , and coincidentally like Wuling Confero.
This is Fengguang DFSK or also called Dongfeng Scenery S370. Namely similar, Wuling Hongguang Dongfeng Fengguang, other than that also similar shape - similar, bongsor, big glass, and also have captain seat . But either because it is used to see Wuling Confero or not, it seems that LMPV Wuling more saucy when compared with Dongfeng Scenery S370, looks more proper . The front side of the Dongfeng Scenery S370 looks more like a VW SUV because of the shape of a VW Amarok-like lamp and grille that is identical to the VW. The side is similar to Wuling Confero, it's just that the glass on the C pillar to the back feels awkward.
Move to the back side, the aura is still like an SUV, like the back side of the Baojun SUV. Dongfeng Scenery S370 itself has a length of 4.5 meters, 1.7 meters wide and 1.8 meters tall. Although the exterior design is less okay, but this car is equipped with LED DRL, reverse camera and electric sunroof . Go into the inner side, well in this section of the Dongfeng Scenery S370 we think is superior to Wuling Confero. The interior looks beautiful and modern, which is more suitable juxtaposed with Wuling Cortez. Got steering wheel flatbottom , materal synthetic leather, and a screen headunit -oriented to the European car makes Dongfeng Scenery S370 looks modern, although the air conditioner is still a swivel model.
Dongfeng Scenery S370 itself armed with a 1.500cc engine like Wuling Confero S, but this car engine has a power of 116 hp and maximum torque of 147.5 Nm. And unlike the product from Wuling, Dongfeng Scenery S370 uses CVT transmission only, yap CVT alone on this car, so there is no real man variant . Dongfeng Scenery S370 is sold with two variants, 5 passengers or 7 passengers, where the price is at 69,900 yuan or equivalent to 151.9 millions Rupiah. What if you think? Taken to Indonesia kah? There matiknya know . Come to your opinion buddy.
