10 Mistakes Lots of People Make When Buying a New Car

According to statistics, most drivers change their car once every six years, which is a pretty long period of time. To take the best out of your car in those six years, to save money and to avoid constant repairing, you’d better avoid ten mistakes many of us make when buying a car. One day you’ll probably decide to sell your car. That’s why you have to consider some important features. According to Paint supplier PPG Industries, white is the most popular car color in the US with 35 percent of all sold vehicles. It is followed by black with 17 percent, and silver and gray that both got a 12 percent popularity. In case you want to purchase some good old German luxury brands such as BMW or Mercedes-Benz, you have to be prepared to pay around $17,800 and $12,900 for ten years of maintenance accordingly. US popular brand Cadillac comes next with an average $12,500 maintenance cost for the same period of time. Additional airbags, a passenger sensing system that can tell the size of the person in the seat and save smaller children in case of a crash, auto-dimming mirrors to reduce the glare coming from headlights at night, head restraints and ABS are some of the things you don’t want to save money at. Make a check-list of features you need to check and think of where you’ll be driving your new vehicle. Try driving on the highway and park in uncomfortable conditions if that’s what you know you’ll have to do in the future. Examine everything to help yourself make the right decision. Don’t be afraid to miss “the deal of a lifetime.” You must have noticed those come up now and then, so you shouldn’t let them pressure you into making a wrong financial decision that will affect your budget for years. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS You don’t think about resale value. 0:32 Car maintenance can be expensive. 1:46 You pay for optional items. 2:50 You buy a brand new car. 3:33 You buy a car that is too big or too small. 4:03 You can’t choose between car’s prestige and technical characteristics. 4:34 You don’t examine the car. 5:19 You miss advantageous offers and discounts. 6:08 You don’t try to lower the price. 6:30 You’re in a hurry. 6:51 SUMMARY -First, the car brand matters: there are brands that are more or less popular among drivers. Second, you need to think about the vehicle specifications and the engine. Third, don’t forget about its color. -Think of how much of your family budget car maintenance can make, and decide if you want to spend that much on your vehicle after you’ve purchased it. -Some drivers don’t smoke inside their cars. In this case, they don’t need an ashtray. An additional corrosion treatment is useless as well because cars already have an anti-corrosion treatment. -The best choice is a car model that is no more than three years old and already well-known. -Try to predict how many times you’re going to travel by car, how many passengers will be there, and so on. -A premium class car will give you better safety, high performance and increased comfort their manufacturers guarantee. -Gather as much information as possible at reliable websites and among your friends, consult an independent specialist, and test drive your chosen car. -The best time to buy a car starts in December and reaches its peak in March. -Try to call or send emails to different dealerships saying you have a better offer and asking if they can beat it. -Spend enough time to gather information, consulting specialists, and weighing the pros and cons. 2018 BMW X3 Vs 2018 Audi Q5

Photo Comparison: G01 BMW X3 xDrive30ivs Audi Q5 2.0T For the first few months of the new, second-generation Audi Q5’s existence, it’s enjoyed record sales. Compared to most of its rivals, it’s been doing quite well. One of those rivals was the F25-generation BMW X3, which the Q5 has done well against. Reason being is that the F25-gen BMW X3 was getting really old, having debuted in 2011. So customers were a bit bored of its design and started flocking toward the brand-spanking new Q5. Now, though, BMW has released some fresh competition for Audi’s new Q5 — the third-generation G01 BMW X3. Now that BMW has premiered its new X3, we thought it a good idea to compare it to the new Audi Q5. Obviously, we haven’t driven the new X3 yet so we can’t compare how the two will drive. What we can compare is how they look and what sort of specs they both have. From the outside, it’s immediately obvious that the new BMW X3 is more muscular looking than the Audi Q5. The former has an aggressive shoulder line, muscular haunches and flared nostrils. It’s the angrier looking of the two cars. By comparison, the Audi Q5 is almost sterile. Though it has sharp, crisp and smart-looking lines and is attractive in its own right. It’s just no one near as aggressive or in-your-face as the new X3. BMW also seems to be pushing the idea that the new X3 is a pretty rugged car with some decent off-road capability, so it’s the more rugged-looking car of the two. It has a sort of Mad Max feel, especially in the pictures of it in the desert. Inside, they both represent polar opposites in design. The cabin of the Audi Q5 is crisp and minimalist, with no unnecessary lines or design elements. It’s handsome, filled with technology and features superb ergonomics. By contrast, the BMW X3 is filled with sharp angles, changes in design and eye-catching lines. Where the Q5 seems smart and high-tech, the X3 seems exciting and aggressive. Both are very good looking, both are just very different. It really depends on what you’d like to drive everyday, something sporty and aggressive or something sleek and minimalist. Both are packed with tech and luxury, though, so you can’t go wrong with either. While both cars are really very different on both the outside and inside, they’re actually quite similar in terms of power and performance. Base spec for each car — the Audi Q5 2.0T and BMW X3 xDrive30i, respectively — come with 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines making similar power. The Audi Q5 makes 252 hp while the BMW X3 makes 248 hp and both cars are paired to eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmissions with all-wheel drive. Though, Audi claims its Q5 to be a bit quicker than what BMW claims for its X3. The Q5 2.0T is said to do 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds while BMW claims 6.0 seconds flat for the X3. Those differences are tiny but, still, the Q5 is said to be quicker. Both of these cars are going to sell incredibly well, so it will be interesting to see which of these cars ends up selling better after they’ve been on sale for awhile. It will be even more interesting to see which is the better car when we can get our hands on both. 2018 BMW X3: All-new, faster, and more efficient than ever.

The X3 comes with two engines, the 248-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four for the xDrive30i and the 355 horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six for the M40i. Both models are mated solely to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The M40i can hit 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. Peak 369 pound-feet of torque on the inline-six arrives at just 1,520 rpm, remaining flat until 4,800.

Thanks to improvements in the engines, aero, and weight, both models will be more fuel-efficient than ever. BMW touts improved underbody sealing to reduce drag. The kidney grill features active shutters to help channel air. BMW's Air Curtains adjust and manage the flow of air for the engine, brakes, and A/C to balance need and efficiency.
